Playing Last.FM radio on Squeezebox outside UK, US and Germany

Due to usage rights Last.FM only supports music streaming on Squeezebox in United Kingdom, United States and Germany. For the rest of us this is a real hassle!

As a paying customer I never settled with this idea, and have struggled to find a way around these limitations, and with some extra testing I finally discovered how I can trick this

Install the Last.fm App. If you try to use it now you probably get an error message that it is not supported in your country or region. This limitation is however only present when you are connected to your own local library, and not when you are connected directly to mysqueezebox.com with a small work around.

Do the following steps to your mysqueeebox.com account:

Login to mysqueezebox.com
Go to account settings
Change country to eg. Germany (Ignore the message "We have detected you are in a different country...."
Save changes.

Then to the following on your Squeexebox Duet remote (or similar):

Go to Setting
Go to Advanced settings
Go to Networking
Select "Switch to mysqueezebox.com" and press "+" and "Add to home menu". You now have connect to mysqueezebox.com on your home menu
Turn off and on your Squeezebox

Now when ever you do the "Switch to mysqueezebox.com" you have full access to Last.FM and all its features! When ever accessing My Music it will automatically reconnect me to my local library!
